Color soapground, softground and spitbite aquatint etching with roulette, scrape and burnish
Statement:
Having worked with abstract subject matter for a number of years, Brown has returned to representation but has not abandoned abstraction altogether. In fact, many elements of abstraction still exist in these works such as the blurred paint and the unexpected compositions. This new body of work—which includes figures, horses, trains, logs and cats—represents a synthesis of representation and abstraction, the observed and the invented.
